Set multiple home or work location, By the name Home and Work only,

Idea :- One can add multiple Home or Work location, either by the same name as Home and Work or like Home1, Home2, or Work1, Work2,

What I want to say is if a person has multiple home address and he visit them frequently

Or

if a person has multiple Work address and he visit them frequently

So I didn't find any option to add multiple home or work location, if it is there then on the very first page of Google Map, it shows only one default Home location and one work location, why not showing multiple home and work address to choose from.

Q- Why u should need to do this ?

A- Because, every time whenever I have to go other work location I need it to type manually, no option to directly select it, because default work location which I have set once only shows there, or either I have to change it everytime, or I can select only that one.

If it is possible it can shows multiple locations to select from or any shortcut to get all saved location

If u didn't get my question, then just tell me Will try to elaborate further.

Thanks

Also, in the case of my employer I sometimes have to go to other sites on business, and soon after each time I get a "Please review [employer name]" notification wanting me to write a review. This should be a list of locations never to suggest reviewing/rating, and that should relay into tools that use the data as well (Google Opinion Rewards, adsense, etc.)

I work multiple locations during the week and this would make my life so much easier, especially on the days where I sub for my coworker and have to go to a new location for a short period of time. It would make planning my morning commute so much easier, especially since I live far from my various work locations. I have to plan my commute pretty carefully the night before to account for traffic and travel time.

Hi @Hemant4,

Thanks for the proposed idea.

From what I can deduct, would the option to Create a list of places apply to your inquiry?

In case you would like to lable multiple locations, that you can easily acess with your prefferable name, please do give try with the provided link.

@sonnyNg I will expand on it from my perspective, and I think it will match @Hemant4's original idea.

I also work for a company that has multiple locations. While I could build a list of places for all of our offices, it still leaves open a problem.

It is part of Google Local Guides that we are not to post reviews of our employer, as that can be biased or be misleading (particularly when a Local Guide reaches the level that their reviews have the Local Guides attribution).

My day-to-day work (and the "Work" location defined in Google Maps) is "Site C" (using generic names here), but I many times have to go to nearby "Site F", "Site L3", "Site L4" and even the occasional cross-country trip to Sites "A", "B", or "SA". Many times after I leave one of these alternate sites, I get the pop-up from Google Maps asking me to rate and/or write a review of my employer at those sites.

When I was making my first visit to "Site B" this year, I was looking up our location on Maps, and found more than a dozen reviews by employees (at least they admitted they were employees). I flagged all of them for Google review, and it appears they were all removed. Alas, when I got off the plane back in Dallas I was greeted with a prompt from Maps to write a review for "Site B"

I also participate in Google Opinion Rewards, which also use location history like Maps does, and I get surveys about my employer (I politely decline those surveys, but not everyone is that ethical), likewise the targeted ad campaigns by Google Adsence try to pop advertisements based on seeing me visit my employer, and thinking that "oh I must be interested in their services"

I think the easiest solution within what exists today, would be a way to flag a List of Places as "Alternate Work Locations", and those locations are listed in the location history as "Work" so all of the services using location history will not be biased by those of us who work in multiple places.

This of course is just the start, since a feature like this could be expanded beyond Google Maps and into other areas of Google (allow a company that maintains listings under Google My Business to publish a list of offices, and if I have one of their offices listed as my Work location, then it would consider any office of theirs a work location).

Hi @MWJones,

Thanks for sharing with us, implementing your experience to the suggestion!

So then the keywords are alternative/secondary.

As you have mentioned, let's wait for @Hemant4's opinion and in the meantime, the status of the post would be changed accordingly. : ]

I work at four different sites throughout the week, and would love the ability to add multiple work locations alongside multiple Commutes (As my work routine is the same each week).
