Your rating of a 2/5 must have been from a personal experience having heard the band and this is not a ‘thoughtful review’ with notable information. Our last 2 gigs, including the one at The Dublin Pub on Sat., 10/17/2020 were cancelled due to the pandemic. The Dublin Pub cancelled Driving Force to play that night and had a different band playing there, not us. Our band was listed on their facebook page as playing, however we did not. What was your rating based on? You are listed as a ‘Local Guide’ for google maps and could be removed for not being trustworthy with your reviews. You have no justification for your review including pictures or description of the event that you attended. Please respond to our inquiry as we await your response, Sincerely, The Driving Force Band
As you can see, He doesn’t provide a clear indication of ‘who he is’ as his picture doesn’t include his face, and there is not way of finding his location, or contact information. How can a so called trustworthy ‘local guide’ be vindicated if he is using a fake name and picture with no contact info? He doesn’t include any description or picture to justify the rating of the band., AND as I explained, if he went to the band’s event in Oct., on the 17th, 2020 at The Dublin Pub, we were CANCELLED by the venue 24 hour prior to the gig., and a DIFFERENT band played that evening instead of us. We were still listed as the band playing that evening. What is also alarming, is that according to Local Guide Community policy, he doesn’t follow the guidelines as a local guide. He is supposed to provide pictures and details to justify his rating to help the audience. I wish to have his rating removed and wish to have his Local Guide standing dismissed as untrustworthy. I read all 94 of his ratings on local businesses and many do not even have a description and are very short and VAGUE. Please advise, Sincerely, Marilea Smith with The Driving force Band from Dayton, Ohio.

Hello, I am trying to report a local guide but there aren’t the 3 dots or share capability on her profile when clicking her username.
That’s pretty bad that the same feature arent available on Google Maps for Web.
@turbotapeworm I will give you a reply on how does this “feature” works. It simply doesn’t. That’s it.
While it might be fine for some things, I found that it’s unusable for many things that I would need checked out. For example, how can I report a person who has 6-7 accounts, and they are posting spam constantly? Can’t do. Reporting accounts on their own doesn’t work. I’ve also reported two accounts, which have over 25k pics, most of the pics are stolen, and guess what? Nothing happened. You can’t simply report “bad quality” on 25 or 50k amount of pics, because obviously who is going to go thru all of that. How can I report “hey, this guy stole 90% of his pics”, well, I can’t. There are even watermarks on many of pics he stole, and they are still there. I already made a post here, asking for someone to look into an account which constantly makes new places out of private buildings, and downloads old pics of places around the world, and posts them as their own, and nothing was done. I think I removed around 300-400 of the places that person made, and no one checking thought “hey, maybe this person is just a spammer, lets do something about it”. Nah, nothing was done. I’m kinda getting tired of policing same people over and over, because all they do is spam, or steal content of others, and put as their own. I’ve had people commenting on my posts “just report them”, even when I said that many of these people are doing same for years, not for a week.
@Bubica1992 - I’m not sure why you’ve responded to me directly but I agree, the report button works, the point of failure is that the people dealing with the report can’t see what you can. They don’t have the same local knowledge we do or see the problems we’ve seen.
The worst thing is there’s no way to help them see or explain why you’ve reported.
Personally I’m with you, I’m tired of having to try and clean things up using a flawed system. I’m tired of seeing supposed Local Guides spam their way to level 5 with a handful of poor submissions.
Theres scope for simple improvements to the system that I’ve submitted as ideas that have disappeared from view.
I really don’t know what the answer is as Google clearly don’t want to listen to us free resources as it creates more work for their paid ones.
Was just seeing that you are one who asked about it, and since lately I’m having issues with reporting big issues, I wanted to provide some feedback.
What you said about the point of failure is the exact thing I’m complaining about. There is no option to point on anything, and the local knowledge is the issue on it’s own, that is why I always hoped they would implement something else, not that people from totally other side of the world check out on things in my city, or elsewhere.
Today, I discovered a disturbing misuse of Google Maps and a business’ name. Essentially, these images were not of the business but rather used the name of the business which could be used to describe what was being portrayed in the photos and video.
While I flagged the individual photos and content, their provocative nature within the context of civil unrest in the United States gave me concern about whether further reporting that should/needed to be made. And if so, to whom and on what basis.
Searching the Local Guide Connect, I found your post and learned that I could report a profile. Your clear instructions and visuals made it easy for me to this.
am change the address last week, I need change here not yet i do,
I have a query.
Recently I observed two (duplicate) profiles of a same person. When I click report section I see no option to report a duplicate profile and also no space to write anything. So unless I have that space it is difficult for me to mention two profile links or to write specific issues.
So how to report those profiles? Could you guide me please.
Thanks,
Shaunak
Very nice
I took advantage of this new feature 3 months ago and reported a level 8 LG with an account full of one word reviews and 1000s of images of themselves, stock photos posted to multiple places, the same photo posted to the same place 10+ times and other generally low quality submissions.
I’ve also taken considerable time to report images individually.
The account is still there, the photos and low-quality reviews are all still there.
So is this process broken, am I unable to spot a poor profile or are Google happy to accept poor quality content that contravenes their own guidelines?
It’s A Good Improvement ![]()
