We know that you all in the Local Guides community care deeply about keeping the information on Google Maps accurate. With that, we’re happy to share that we’re launching a new feature that will allow you to report entire profiles for abuse on both Android and iOS.
This new functionality will enable you to let the Google Maps team know when someone is contributing false information, uploading offensive content, or taking other abusive actions that violate Google Maps user contributed content policy. Previously, you were able to flag certain contributions individually, but you can now report the users themselves in an effort to stop those who regularly contribute abusive content.
We encourage you to flag the profiles of users who you see posting incorrect information on Google Maps. Here’s the step-by-step breakdown detailing how to use this new feature:
We hope this new process will allow you to quickly and easily report abuse on Google Maps. Please note, this is the best way to escalate inappropriate profiles in Maps; we’ll no longer be accepting reports via Connect. Thank you to all of you for helping us to keep Google Maps free of abuse and false information.
Wow. Thank you so much for this much required feature, @Rodrigo_P . I always use flag option but this feature will be really helpful. I am going to go through shops and businesses in Google Maps to review and report profiles violating Google Maps policies.
That’s really great news, because now its much easy to report or flag a person’s profile who violates the rules of the Local guides program. Thanks for sharing such a great news .
@Rodrigo_P Thanks for introducing this feature there is a lot of false information about local business around, many of them put wrong reviews for wrong business and this will be of great help to notify google team
