I opened my inbox to a wonderful surprise from Google—an email celebrating my 8-year anniversary of contributing to Google Maps! It’s honestly hard to believe it has been that long. Time truly flies when you’re having fun exploring, sharing, and helping others.
When I started, I never imagined it would become such a passionate and rewarding hobby. For me, it has always been about more than just points or levels. It’s about the joy of helping a traveler find that hidden gem, supporting a small local business with an honest review, or adding a new place to the map that makes life easier for the community.
The email came with some stats that just blew me away. It’s humbling to see the cumulative impact of small, consistent actions over the years.
