World Famous in New Zealand

The Hundertwasser Public Toilets in Kawakawa, New Zealand are world famous, if only in New Zealand, although they are very popular with tourists.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was Austrian and immigrated to New Zealand and lived in Northland. He was an artist, and when the council wanted to renovate Kawakawas toilet, he was chosen to design the new design. The design is unique inside and out. That’s a very original content @TheEagleEye , thank you for sharing.

Is there an entrance fee? It reminded me a bit of Gaudi’s art work in Barcelona.

Hi @VasT , no there is no charge to use the toilets. You can enter at your leisure. Yes the angles of art is very similar to Gaudi’s art.

Thank you for your reply @TheEagleEye ,

By checking the photos on Google Maps couldn’t help and notice a vintage railway. Do you know anything about it?
