Hello Local Guides! ![]()
Have you ever noticed how a clean, green park instantly makes you feel energized and at peace? ![]()

Lately, Iβve been thinking a lot about why that is. Looking at the world through my medical background, I always find myself returning to a simple but powerful truth: human well-being is deeply interconnected with the health of our environment. For me, the ultimate equation is always Healthy Planet = Healthy People! ![]()

This exact idea is the common thread behind our βLocal Guides Green Talkβ series. Over the past few months, we havenβt just been marking random dates on the calendar; weβve been building a fun, practical eco-toolkit to help our neighborhoods thrive, step by step:
π Progress Beats Perfection this World Recycling Day β»οΈ We started small, looking inward at our daily waste habits and recycling foundations.
[HERO Part 6] Who Knew Mapping was a Science? Letβs Stand with Science 𧬠in World Health Day! Starting small by looking inward at our daily waste habits and recycling foundations.
Recap: [Virtual] Indonesia, April 26, From Concern to Action: A World Earth Day Special ππ§ and World Earth Day 2026: Our Power, Our Planet β Mapping the Heartbeat of a Healthy World ππ Expanding our view to appreciate and map the ecosystems supporting us.
World Environment Day: Bringing it all together to turn awareness into action with a deep dive into local composting!
As Local Guides and individuals, we can do so much to protect our environment! Every single action contributes to a healthier planet:
Shaping the Map: Adding eco-friendly filters to help others locate sustainable choices.
Guiding the Community: Reviewing and updating local recycling points so our neighborhoods know exactly where to go.
Making Personal Strides: Reducing our own daily personal footprints and waste habits.
Every Contribution Counts: and so on β¦ every single edit, photo, review, or mindful choice we make moves us one step closer to a sustainable future!
Connecting the Dots: HERO and ACCESS
Caring for our green spaces naturally goes hand-in-hand with how we support the people living in them. That is why Green Talk fits so naturally alongside two other ongoing series Iβve been sharing here on Connect, which many of you might already explore:
The Health Edu Series on Connect (HERO): A space where we look at simple ways to uplift the well-being and health awareness of our communities.
The Accessibility Edu Series (ACCESS): A collaborative effort where we focus on mapping accessible infrastructure so no one gets left behind.
Ultimately, whether we are talking about health, accessibility, or the environment, it all connects back to the same goal: sharing local experiences so we can learn from each other and build better neighborhoods together. ![]()

Our special celebratory meet-up with the special guest, a Local Guide from Jakarta, our very own community composting expert! He is the driving force behind rumahhijaunet and will be dropping some serious knowledge on how to do composting at home! ![]()
@Andito_PW is happening tonight!
It would be an absolute honor to have your unique local perspective there. Letβs hang out, chat casually, and share what weβve learned along the way. ![]()
