Thanks for giving me this opportunity.

My cousin daughter marriage was at Ludhiana in Punjab August 2017.I planned my trip to Amristar to Ludhiana, than while coming back we will catch flight from Chandigarh. With my kids wanted to explore punjab because it is very beautiful.With lots of greeny .

Planned 3 days stay in Amritsar. Booked a sarai ( room) in advance which was just 3 minutes walk from Golden Temple.
We landed evening at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport there you can see replica of Golden Temple in glass frame. We reached sarai at 7oclock .

Next day got up at 2.30 am in morning got ready went to Darbar sahib, couldn’t believe seeing so many people doing seva. Some were cleaning floor, serving water & doing different activities.
We took kada prasad from counter, before the entrance a side counter is there where you offer the kada prasad they mix it in huge bowl serve to everyone one. Then we entered the golden Temple it has 4 doors East, West, North, South inside Kirtan( Singing hymn’s ) was going on. We did Ardas bow our head came out there are step which goes upstairs we went up its was amazing to see carving, hyms written on walls & from window the Chandelier was beautiful every where u will see Golden wall it’s pure gold.with beautiful carving, even on the 4 doors beautiful carving are done.
On top also in one room Guru granth sahib was there . A sevadar ( man who sit there to tell people story ) told a story about that place & Then we climb the next steps reach the top u can see the Dome shape made of Gold & in corner small dome shape . There also in room prayers were going they were reading Guru Granth Sahib we sat for few minutes came down. It was 4 o’clock morning.

The Nishan Sahib is a Sikh triangular shape flag made of cotton or silk cloth, with a tassel at its end
Every morning daily The head Granthi will keep Guru Granth Sahib on his head will down the steps keep Granth Sahib on palki Sahib
Palki Sahib (palanquin) Which very heavy decorated with flowers,carrying Sri Guru Granth Sahib from the “Akal Takhat Sahib,” the devotees, accompanied by the Gurudwara staff to Sri Harmandir Sahib .They Chant Satnam waheguru ji satnam waheguru ji while carrying palki my son went ahead took on his shoulder also told it’s too heavy .

Then again head Granthi will keep guru granth Sahib on his head inside the temple will keep on a small cot ,on which small bedding & small pillows are kept with white small bedsheets,keep Guru Granth Sahib on it cover with Decorative Rumal ( coloured Cloth with embroidery ) it has 7 piece are used to cover Guru granth Sahib.

Hukamnama, is two words hukam, meaning command or order, and namah, meaning statement.

Then Head Granthi ( Priest) open Guru Granth Sahib read Amritvele Da Hukamnama ( morning time hymn from guru granth Sahib) Sandhia vele Da Hukamnama ( evening time hymn prayers) Now we can see live on PTC Punjabi channel & You Tube also. If we missed it we get it in our Gurudwara groups.
Due to seasonal changes the time change between 4-4.30 am.
Darbar Sahib is knows by different name Harminder Sahib & Golden Temple. Night time again they take granth Sahib back keep on bed to sleep.

Any one come here,they just have cover there head with Rumal( big handkerchief).
Avoid wearning short dress if you visit.
Then we did parikrama ( Go clock wise round) Amritsarovar ( holy water) while doing parikrama around Golden temple sarovar there small gurudware we did darshan & listen to story of each Gurudwara. It took more than 3 hours it started raining but we complete the circle while moving around we saw a men’s taking dip in sarovar there is shed made cover & even ladies took separately in cover room. But we just sprinkle water on our body . There are stories we heard also from our elders if you have any skin disease it get cure if you prayer sincerely then take dip. Crows used take dip & when they came out they turn white in colour

I visited here when I was in 9th standard. My school had organised a trip to Delhi-Amrutsar-Haridwar. Very nostalgic, and feeling nice by recollecting of fond memories for me.
