Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Tejal, a passionate Level 8 Local Guide from India.

Tejal has been making an impact by contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. She is a true ‘Accessibility Champion’ and is a teacher by profession. She is also canvassador for India often shares her knowledge about how to make more attractive banner and creative content with everyone around. She loves contributing about accessibility and Go green initiatives. Let’s get to know her! Here is a candid Rendezvous with @Tejal !

:rocket: Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?

[Tejal]: Ever since I joined the Local Guides program, I have especially valued accessibility in my contributions. I like to add accessibility information to my reviews, share photos, and add places on the map run by owners with disabilities. Since past 3 years I am conducting classes at atmavishwas vidyalaya(school) for virtual tour of different places. In this school they take care of physiological patient. They are not able to move out far so I share challenge on connect where all local guide shared travel history with maps link and all those link I showed them on projector. They felt very happy to see world virtually.

:light_bulb: What inspires you to be a Local Guide?

[Tejal]: I try to give a one-hour online class to the students once a week or three times a month. The sessions include a virtual tour of one place and a general knowledge presentation, on which I ask questions. The students and parents appreciate my work, and this gives me inspiration.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?

[Tejal]: My most used feature is search on maps for location and share with my student at describe in above mentioned subject. But my favorite feature of maps is 360 View as it helps me in sharing a Virtual tour mentioned above.

:speech_balloon: What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?

[Tejal]: Give your 100% whatever you are doing and never take U turn !

Ahe once again truly deserve @Tejal ben ,she is Canva recognised teacher, special teacher for special students those who are challenged etc what’s not.
We have been privileged to meet her virtually during lock down.
Above all she represents india
