Hello, Local Guides!
Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Rosana, a passionate Level 8 Local Guide from Brazil.
Rosana makes sure to map and promoting local businesses that sell gluten-free products for people with intolerance. She has been making an impact by contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. Let’s get to know her! Here is a candid Rendezvous with @rosanabtl !
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?
[Rosana]: I am a local guide and, at first, my posts were just for fun. Over time, I realized that they influenced people and I started to position myself more seriously, seeking as much information as possible. Nowadays, my highlight is promoting places that sell gluten-free products for people with intolerance. I know how difficult it is to find places like these and, therefore, showing that it is possible to have a safe diet in these places is very important to me.
What inspires you to be a Local Guide?
[Rosana]: I love being a Local Guide and contributing to the community. I like to be clear and objective in my opinions and post as much information as possible, about what I would like to see if I were looking to learn something about a place. I would like to thank everyone who works on this platform and helps us on a daily basis.
What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?
[Rosana]: The best feature is that you can change information that is incorrect or missing. Many times people register a location and there is missing information or even incorrect information. I think it is amazing to be able to make these changes and be able to contribute with accurate information.
What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?
[Rosana]: You need Google Maps to get around, just as Google Maps needs your feedback to improve. Share your experiences and help build an even more complete and useful map for everyone!
