Hello, Local Guides!
Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Jesi, a passionate Level 10 Local Guide from Argentina.
Jesi loves supporting local businesses and is a true advocate of Accessibility , Sustainability and a promoter of #GreenandCleanWord ! She is also a part of #OneAccessibility initiative that focuses on writing posts and sharing knowledge on Connect and supporting Accessibility on Maps ! She is also a foodie and you can see her actively participating across many initiatives on Connect & beyond ! She has been making an impact by contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. She is not only an amazing Local Guide but an amazing human being too
Let’s get to know her! Here is a candid Rendezvous with @Jesi !
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?
[Jesi]: I started just focused on gaining points and improving Google Maps on my area, and creating lists that would only help me and people I know. But thanks to Connect and meetups I found many “more important” ways I could contribute to actually help others more, and found myself in the One Accessibility alliance, and adding info about places being comfortable for kids and different diets.
What inspires you to be a Local Guide?
[Jesi]: I like improving something that so many of us use, and is so helpful to me and especially makes a bigger impact on other peoples life, like the ones with accessibility needs.
What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?
[Jesi]: I like lists the most because I always find them useful and have a lot of them, but for the ones that give points, I like photos and videos.
What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?
[Jesi]: Even if you feel like you don’t have the time, with work and family and so on, even the smallest contribution matters and can help people
Let’s remember why Women’s Month exists, but also celebrate and be proud of ourselves
