Hello, Local Guides! ![]()
Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Chinonso, a passionate Level 7 Local Guide from Nigeria.
Chinonso believes that being a Local Guide is just one way she channels her passion for the community. She continues to inspire others to see the beauty and possibilities in their everyday spaces. She has been making an impact by contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. Let’s get to know her! Here is a candid Rendezvous with @ChinonsoOnukwugha !
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?
[Chinonso]: Being a Local Guide has been a fulfilling parts of my exploration journey. As someone who enjoys planning trips and helping others explore the world around them, I started sharing honest reviews and photos simply to help people make informed decisions. Over time, I realized how powerful these seemingly small contributions were, especially with topics surrounding accessibility.
What inspires you to be a Local Guide?
[Chinonso]: I am inspired by the ability to make someone’s experience better, whether it’s a traveler visiting a new city or a small business owner trying to grow. I love sharing what I discover, and I believe helping people navigate their environment makes communities stronger and more connected.
What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?
[Chinonso]: The “contribute” feature. It often feels like a grassroots impact at a global scale, because I am putting businesses that have not been seen on a global map.
What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?
[Chinonso]: Your voice matters: your experiences, your reviews, your perspective. Keep sharing, keep exploring!
