Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Anik, a passionate Level 10 Local Guide from Indonesia.

Anik has been making an impact by contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. She loves volunteering and supports various causes as a local Guide. Anik is equally amazing as a person and she is one of the most happiest and positive person I have met ! Let’s get to know her!

:rocket: Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?

[Anik]: I love photography very much and with that why not if I try to promote how beautiful landscape in my area,East Kalimantan.And my big dream as a Local Guide is someday with my contributions on Maps, photos and review many hidden gem can go public and go international.And yes,for now,the impact slowly but sure are come true.Many domestic visitor was visit to hidden gem that I review on Maps.

:light_bulb: What inspires you to be a Local Guide?

[Anik]: I love to share anything with another and i think be a Local Guide and post my review and photos on Maps is amazing thing,I help people with that.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?

[Anik]: The feature on Maps that i love is add Report, because i can live report during on the way and share the update with others!

:speech_balloon: What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?

[Anik]: Let’s be more productive even you are not a working woman.
