If I look at a maps location on the default view it’s fine. If I select satellite the view goes dark, and I can’t switch back to the default as the screen remains dark, if I switch locations it remains the same. The only way to reset it is by restarting maps.
@colinchaffers which browser are you using and which version of browser and Windows 11? First, I would try a different browser.
Hello @colinchaffers ,
Mentioning the updated version and browser version can help us understand the issue. I have been on Win 11 ever since it was launched and never came across any such issue.
You may also try clearing the data of the browser.
…
The Windows 11 was reinstalled a month ago so should be up to date: I’ve done some more testing: If I use Edge it works ok; If I use Chrome or Firefox there is a problem. The Windows 11 version is Windows 11 Pro 22H2
It looks like the problem is related to switching between: default to satellite, and global view. but I cant repeat the problem consistently sometime its OK sometimes not, also, the screen is no longer black but more a out of focus satellite view.

Hello User @colinchaffers
As per the latest update, the current 11 version is VERSION 23H2 (OS BUILD 22631.2792).
Have you tried clearing browser data and what about in the incognito mode?
Keep me posted
My PC checks for updates daily, and I checked manually and its said its up to date: How do instal the latest 23H2 (OS BUILD 22631.2792)?
But I don’t think this is browser related in so much Edge, Chrome and Firefox and working the same. The issue appear to be related switching on global view when your zoomed in on a map, where sometimes its out of focus.
KR Regards
Colin
PS: I did clear the browser data and don’t use incognito
I totally get it. I’ve had my fair share of glitches, but usually, there’s a fix out there! One thing that’s helped me in similar situations is checking out operatingsystems.info. They’ve got some neat troubleshooting tips that might just save your day!
What I find interesting about these tech hiccups is how they can vary from one setup to another. It’s like our PCs have their own little personalities, right? Has anyone else noticed certain patterns with their screen issues? For me, it’s usually after updates or when I’m running multiple apps.
