Just moved to Den Haag, Netherlands from Daejeon, South Korea. This is my first sighting of a Dutch windmill and more to come.

Hello @MichaelCarmine ,

Thanks for sharing this interesting picture with us! Is this windmill active or has it been converted into a museum? If you’d tell us more about the place and about your experience, you would make your post more engaging and your readers happier. :slightly_smiling_face:

In case you haven’t seen it yet, you can take a look at Your guide to Connect, where you can find useful information about the forum and its topics.

Hello @MichaelCarmine welcome here in the Netherlands. I hope you have a wonderful time. I live in NL too but in the North of the Netherlands, a small town called Vledder.

I would like to invite you to the map project for Local Guides

Hello @MichaelCarmine you’re always welcome here and I be glad to show you around as a personal Local Guide.
But still you have so much to discover around Den Haag!

I could even share some of my tips for Den Haag.

@Giu_DiB I cannot answer your question as I just moved to the Netherlands. By looking at the area surrounding the windmill I’d have to say that it is lived in because of the boat and other objects.

Hello @MichaelCarmine and @Giu_DiB I like to help a bit with info. There is a great site in the Netherlands that has all info on windmills: The Dutch Mill Database this link shows the mill with tons of info and even a Google map with locations.

The site states that the owner is the municipality of The Hague.

Thanks @Erik_van_den_Ham once the family and I get settled we plan to explore the Netherlands.

If you’re willing to share I would gladly accept your tips for Den Haag.

Our biggest challenge at the moment is learning the public transportation system here in Den Haag. lol

Oh I can imagine that @MichaelCarmine . Did you know there is an easy way to that by the use of Google maps?
Let me show you an example say you would like to travel from The Hague all the way to my place Vledder.

Just go to Google maps and plan the route and select Public transport.
