Wimbledon Shopping Precinct - Greenery surrounds

The Wimbledon shopping precinct is a precinct worth visiting for its Centre Court Shopping Mall and many and diverse restaurants and cafes along the main road. where we get a glimpse of the greenery of Wimbledon Common, a vaste expanse of land that you need a compass with you, to just walk through the small but dense roadside common areas.

Unless you know the common inside out, in which case, you can use landmarks to guide you though the thick forest of trees and terrain.

5 Main (but not limited to 5) Reasons to visit Wimbledon:

  1. There are shops like Whittard of Chelsea in the Shopping mall which sells teas of all types and tea accessories and chocolates

  2. It is near Wimbledon Village which is known for its quaint boutiques and top restaurants set in period buildings in open, green spaces and which adds to its uniqueness.

  3. It is central to areas like West London and the City via the District Line on the Underground and a stone throw’s away from vaste commons like Wimbledon and Putney Common; the suburbs like Kingston and attractions like Hampton Court Palace.

  4. Local tourist attraction sites like, the All England Club for the Tennis Tournament in June; theatrical performances at the New Wimbledon Theatre and the Polka Theatre.

  5. Visit the Buddist temple, Wat Buddhapadipia and then meditate in the Common afterwards or get a coffee in one of the many cafes around.

Wimbledon is also famous for its tennis tournament where the top tennis players gather to compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the tennis circuit, at the All England Tennis Club.

I don’t get a chance to even go to any of the matches in the first week but it is now difficult to get tickets for Centre Court and Court No.1, two of the most sought-after courts to watch top tennis players compete in a competitive arena.

A neighbour took myself and a school friend to Centre Court one summer but now the lottery selection of tickets makes it difficult to get a ticket for the most sought-after matches on Centre Court and Court no.1.
