Is it a friendly environment? Do we have car routes? Are there exit points? Can I come with my family? All these are questions people ask before visiting places.
As people become more security aware, visualization becomes key to understanding a concept around them. More important is the correct visuals. I have had opportunity to review a few locations on Google Maps and I discovered that people post a lot of irrelevant materials like the food they are taking or their selfies without sufficiently capturing the background of a location.
One of the reasons for uploading info is to assist people with directions. It’s okay to upload your selfies or the food in a local restaurant if it will help travellers know what is available there, but more importantly, is the landmark. Capturing roads/routes, the frontage of important places, car parks, the interior of memorable locations in still pictures or videos could be of great assistance.
Uploading photos of the surrounding of the location will keep visitors from getting lost. People want to have a proper feel of where they are going. Local guides need to understand why they are called guides rather than being lost in the frenzy of showing off.
