Hello

I am wondering, why no one can follow me on google map? the follow button is not activated on my profile. How can I show it so people can follow me?

There could be several reasons why no one is following you on Google Maps. Here are some possible explanations:

  • The first thing I’ll like to suggest is,please check your Google Maps profile and be sure you have enabled it on your profile. Your profile isn’t restricted because I was able to check it,therefore that’s not the problem.

  • Try trouble shooting techniques like Updating your Google maps app.If you can’t find it still,try clear cache and cookies,logging in and out of your account. You could even try logging in through another browser and see if it the feature will appear.

  • It use to be that the roll out wasn’t complete but I believe all local guides should have access to it now.

  • If all those are not working out,please kindly let us know. Perhaps we can tag a GM on your behalf to escalate the issue.

I’m afraid there is no setting available to fix the missing follow button on your profile, @Faisalmadanat .

I checked your contributions briefly and find it a bit unusual how you add a ton of photos to some businesses including product photos, and your reviews seem to be positive praise only. This could indicate that you are trying to promote the businesses more than helping Google Maps users get the best possible information. I have not seen Google mention this as a cause of blocking you from getting followers, but I can not rule it out.

Kindly, share your thoughts on using your profile for the promotion of businesses.

Eu já disse em outras publicações aqui no fórum que a minha conta sempre tem problemas.

Geralmente os problemas de minha conta depois de um tempo se solucionam sozinhos. Geralmente são os chamados “bugs de conta”.

Alguns problemas demoram mais, outros demoram menos, mas todos sempre se resolvem.

O problema que você está enfrentando já aconteceu comigo. Sim, claro que já aconteceu!

Foi temporário. Pouco mais de um mês depois o botão voltou aparecer.

Se você não quiser esperar esse tempo todo, marque um Moderador que possa “escalar” seu problema para o time técnico do Google Mapas.

Many thanks for all of you for your help, I tried to update the Google Map and make it public. Also, I turn the location on all times. But the follow button is still missing.

I will try to be more active and focus on helping other people through my reviews and wait if the button appears or not.

thank you so much for your help.

I have recently started as a local guide, so I thought it is ok to put many reviews for every store, restaurant, or cafe I visit. But, to be honest, the follow button was missing before I started as a local guide, and also I don’t know why. This issue is not new.

I an learning, and I want to thank you for your advice, I will try to make my reviews more focused on helping people and not focusing on the business. And I will wait to see if the button may appear or not.
