Why Is My Google Maps Review Not Visible to the Public?

I recently posted a review on Google Maps about an ATM failure and the service credibility of a bank. While I can see the review when logged into my account, it’s not visible to the public when accessed via the shared link.

Reference Screenshots:

  1. Logged-in view: I can see my review.
  2. Public view: The review is not visible.

Can someone explain why my review isn’t publicly visible?

Thank you for your help, and wishing everyone a Happy International Women’s Day! :cherry_blossom:

Update:
The bank has resolved the issue by paying a penalty of 20% of the disputed amount for the trouble caused due to the mechanical error and poor service. Thank you all for your support! :innocent:

As per my understanding there are many reasons behind hidden reviews,
some of them are like duplicate photo or similar looking photos, Copied review, Photos with faces etc.
Please check the photos you uploaded with reviews are looking similar, that is also be the reason behind it.

@HarshadPatil your review might have been flagged for one reason or another. Looking at your review, doesn’t look like it’s violating any rules/guidelines. Try if you can just post the review just by itself (without the video) and see if it’s visible.

Hello @HarshadPatil ,
similar as @iyudhi and @saidevadiga comments, I also suggest to delete the videos and watch if the text-only review goes public (which I consider as a good practice for all reviews), but two more hints:

  • It is always problematic to post media with visible text. This applies at least to the video shown on the left.
  • The approval process for videos can take up to a day. So, depending when you posted it, you might want to wait until tomorrow.

The content which is shared in Google maps reviews section are shot and edit by me and confirm the intention was not the defame the the banks reputation but to reach out for help and concern about ATM machine fraud happening around my area. I even reached there offical Twitter handle but service over there was also slow.
@saidevadiga thank you for your reply and support sir.

Sir thank you for your valuable feedback but I was using those videos as Proof because the security handwritten logs was not updated since last year. For further investigation I also reached to the nearby branch of that bank but they suggested keep those proof for better recovery for your amount.

It is correct keeping the videos as a proof, but Google Maps is not the right place for it. You should keep them safe on your PC, Smartphone or external media, but not showing to the public. And “keep those proof for better recovery for your amount” will not be reason to convince Google to publish those.
@ErmesT anything else, you could add?

It was a hectic situation that night. According to the rules, if a transaction error occurs, the complaint regarding the issue must be validated and confirmed within a 1-hour period. However, no one involved in the transaction—neither the banks nor the governing bank—was responding to customer care inquiries. As a result, we decided to utilize Google Maps reviews to submit a precise complaint.

The next day, after visiting the bank branch, they informed us that the amount would be reimbursed into the account within one week.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and support sir.

I think, this brings it exactly to the point, @HarshadPatil! We should write reviews to describe experiences, but Google would never agree to use a public statement on Maps to submit a complaint to anybody.
