Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

@feliciaf

You are asking for help in the wrong community, the Local Guides program has nothing to do with the Google Business Profile service.

As a business owner, you should seek help in the Google Business Community or contact the Google Business Profile support through this online form.

Yes, I waited just in case. Reaching the GIS in Little Rock is difficult. The issue with this is that Hindman Park Way goes to the west and West 65th Street goes to the east of South University Avenue. Hindman Park Way is divided for the first block. Having westbound labeled correctly and eastbound labeled incorrectly in that portion can get confusing and give what used to be Mr Bubbles (car wash) an incorrect address a problem. I tried to change the name to Hindman Park Way but was unable.

Please help me, same issue :pray:

Some time while adding a new place it shows that Not applied or google couldnot verify your edit or new place creation, what should i do for that, can anyone help me by giving a solution.

@Lakhinath

Please read Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? if you haven’t already done so.

And recently I posted How to get Edits and New Places Approved with lots of tips that could be relevant for you.

I have visited some churches situated in remote villages in north-eastern Romania. Their members are usually old, computer illiterate people. There’s little hope they will create a Google My Business profile for their church as they most likely don’t own a computer or a smart phone.

One of the Product Experts helped me and added two of the locations(here and here). I’ve been trying to add another one.

I just read on this thread that trying to add a location multiple times has most likely marked me as a spammer.

What’s the correct approach? Who should I ask to add such locations on the map?

Thank you!

@Edgar81 Hi!

Its not true that trying multiple time is such a spammer activity. But trying wrong, duplicate and misleading others is a spammer activities.

However, I am trying to solve your issue on the Maps community.

Hi @ShafiulB ! That’s what @ErmesT wrote here.

Repeating the attempt several time is not helpful: If an edit was rejected once, a next attempt with the same data will be rejected too, but you will be also identified as a potential spammer (your trust will be reduced), so if you don’t have better details to add, once an edit is rejected is better to give up.

Well I have way more edits approved then pending, so I am still confused as to why they are not showing up on my local guide statis. If anyone can fix would be appreciated or direct me to who can. I have been chasing tail for a year or so.

  1. Hi! Most of our editing are publishing as sharp as we submit. If Showing pending means our information is not clear and Google is verifying information with editional efforts that takes time as Google wants our efforts to make fruitful.
  2. If showing Not Applied it means Google is unable to verify our information or information is not accurate.

Hi there.

My Interest is taking 360 Photos on walking and Biking trails…
Most recently, I have added several “Missing Places” which have been approved almost straight away… Today I created 360 photos on A small portion of a New Cycle Trail. This Cycle Trail covers about 20 KM passing through several Suburbs on the way.
I went to Add a new area from the area I was in today - A small section from near the bottom to part way up the Blue line marked on screen Capture below .from this Link https://www.ccc.govt.nz/assets/Documents/Transport/Cycling/map/Bike-Easy-Guide-and-Map.pdf

The Created blue Icon was placed about the center on the blue line

Hello @NormB ,

It sounds like you were trying to add a route rather than a place. Routes on the map are lines, not points, and need to be added a different way. It is partially explained here, but likely you need a more complex explanation as there is a difference between the roads (lines) on the map and the routes that follow them. For more help on roads and routes I’d suggest you visit the Maps community, as they are the place that deals more with the underlying map data.

I can no longer add existing places on google map … most of my edit are all over suddenly not being applied and they all real places that exist

Hello fellow Detroiter @Amdy , welcome to Local Guides Connect where Local Guides from all over the world will connect with each other on this platform.

I usually pay attention to a couple of things very closely if I would like to add a new place, the coordination of the location and if the site or business has already existed under a different name it may need some searching.

To be precisely correct I would like to tag our LG who is an expert in this case @JanVanHaver

Hi @Amdy

Thanks for asking.

It is an automatic filter checking our edits, so don’t take it personally.

If you have been making less perfect contributions the consequences can include a block on your edits. Basically the system will trust your less.

I looked at your profile and noticed the following:

You have uploaded very similar photos to the Rino hotel. I recommend you only upload one or maybe 2-3 photos to each place. Make it your very best and most helpful photo.

You have also been uploading photos to Manhattan. We can only add photos to normal pins with a link or button inviting us to add photos. We can get suspended for doing what you did.

When writing reviews try always to “prove” you have been there by explaining your experience and mention some detail only visitors could know. Then share your opinion and why you liked or disliked the place.

Recently I posted How to get Edits and New Places Approved with lots of tips that could be relevant for you. Especially the preverification is worth taking note of.

All the best

Why does Google take so long to verify a photo of a closed business?

I posted photos of “Friends” on Balliol St. closed t months ago get Google still shows it pending.

Hi @VinceD , welcome back in Connect after a long time.

Probably the reason of the missing closure of the business is related to the way Google Maps source the data for the verification. As you can see in google Maps (desktop) here below the available information. The place still be mentioned in several pages and directories, and this is in some way denying your edit, despite several reviews and photos are declaring that “the place is closed”.

Sometimes this is annoying, but it works well in most of the cases when users (or competitors) try to remove place that are open and active

I suggest you to send your query in the Google Maps Help Community for them to escalate the issue to the team.

For more information about the verification process, please read: Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?
