I love to explore. Just ask my wife. If it’s not hiking, it’s driving my 4Runner on Forest Service roads keeping an eye on the creeks for ideal fly fishing holes. When I get back home and head out into the city, I take the same approach: How do I find something special in a local business? How are they trying to connect to me as their customer. When I do find something, I want to share it because I feel that it will help someone else get that same feeling.
I tend to steer clear of chain restaurants just because they all feel the same. Don’t get me wrong: some of them have great food and are fun to go to. They’re just repetitive. I find joy in looking for a different way to connect with a business.
