I remember old days at my Place when we use to stop at different places in the way of our destination to ask many people where the destination is but then google maps arrived and things start to change. In today’s world, I can’t imagine myself without google maps. I check google maps daily before leaving for office to check traffic condition in my area. It all started when I searched for my own business and it was not placed correctly on google maps. I similarly find other business as well which was not correctly listed, so I started editing them and it gave me a sense of pride and satisfaction whenever my edit was accepted that I helped someone to search correct place in future. I was not aware of the local guides concept earlier and use to contribute just to help peoples. One day I received a mail from google explaining about local guides and it gave me more motivation to share. I started writing reviews and sharing pictures of the places I visit. Now, whenever I visit a new place I add photos and reviews of that place which also help other people to know about that place. I am a level 5 Local guide. As your level increase, you can get different perks as well. Travelling new places and reviewing them is the reason why I love sharing on Google Maps.
To sum up whole story in one sentence I would say “GOOGLE MAPS I LOVE YOU”
