Why I Love to Review Locally-Made “Yoruba” Meals

Every sane and living individual enjoys tasty, nutritious meals because such meals are well prepared. The moments when tasty meals are eaten are never forgotten, as memories of the delicious first bite to the sweet last morsel keeps coming to one’s mind from time to time. This unforgettable experience adds to the beauty and enjoyment in life.

I personally enjoy well prepared, delicious meals so much, particularly locally-made meals. By locally-made meals, I mean Yoruba (one of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria) meals prepared either at home or casual dining restaurants. For this write-up, I will be focusing on yam flour meal (called “Amala” in Yoruba language) eaten with Beans soup (called “Gbegiri”), jute leaves soup (“Ewedu”) and stew (“Obe Ata”).

The Amala-Gbegiri-Ewedu-Obe Ata combo meal is a very peculiar and esteemed meal among the Yoruba ethnicity, which I am proudly part of. The meal is cherished and enjoyed mostly at events, casual dining restaurants or at home during special occasions. I love to eat and take photos of the combo meal because it is my favorite food. I savor every bit of the food every time I eat it. I share reviews on the food whenever I go to any of the casual dining restaurant to eat it in order to showcase one of the locally made meals common to the Yoruba people and promote the Yoruba culture.

The combo meal actually contains nutrients such as minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It also contains iron, calcium, zinc, copper, magnesium, potassium, carbohydrate, sodium, folate, phosphorus, protein, dietary fiber, Vitamins A, B6, C and E, riboflavin, niacin, protein, little fat and oil, trans-fat, sodium and cholesterol (non-harmful quantity). These are nutrients that help the body to fight diseases and maintain good health.

I will suggest you try out the nutritious Amala-Gbegiri-Ewedu-Obe Ata combo meal whenever you locate a decent-looking casual dining restaurant (or any restaurant where the meal is available on their menu) to have a feel of its delicious taste. Thus, patronizing the combo meal promotes a part of the Yoruba ethnicity (a fraction of the human family on the earth) culture, delicious locally-made meal, and good health. As a local guide, just as nutritious, healthy meals are essential for our existence, I strongly feel google map is a very useful tool through which we can give meaning and direction to people’s lives and everyday living.
