My name is Francis. A local guide based in Nairobi, Kenya. Professionally, am a creative - I write, do photography, film, graphic design and consulting on technological issues drawn from my Computer Science background under my startup company Zaidi Creatives.
You might expect me to start off with what I love but to understand what I love let me tell you about what I hate. I hate being lost; wandering around with no idea of where I am nor how I will find your way. My solution to travelling(which is my favorite hobby) without getting lost is google maps. I love google maps, it doesn’t matter whether one is travelling locally or globally, you can always find your location or a place you want to visit by simply using the app. This is only made possible by the vast contributions made by local guides in their hometowns or when they travel or visit new places.
As a photographer, I get to showcase my skills on camera or on phone and at the same time give google maps users a credible and visual representation of places I have been to. Furthermore, I review places I visit so as to help future users in their decision making of whether a specific establishment is the right fit to the experience that they desire to receive. Adding new places to google maps is what I love doing most. Its is like placing a flag on top of the moon saying “I was here” or “Look what I found” It gives me great joy as an entrepreneur to place other people’s businesses on the map so that they too can become discoverable and grow their small business.
I love good food, top notch service and attending music and creative events. That’s why reviews are important to me. They help one have the right expectation about a restaurant/ hotel that one intends to eat, stay at or enjoy recreational activities.
