I have been writing about my city (Florence, Italy) since 2006. I started posting pics and reviews on my blog (Ioamofirenze), then on social networks and Google Maps. I always loved to discover new places, little hidden gems, not too touristic, and share them with people, even the ones I don’t know.
I like to find tiny restaurants and bars, small artisans, nice places… and then let people know that even a touristic city like mine, can offer authentic places to go. And I think that Google Maps is a good way to reward people that live their business with passion and kindness. In Italy many stores, restaurants and small businesses can’t afford big marketing investments. So I think that sharing a pic or a comment on Google, can help them to be noticed.
I use Google Maps too, when I travel in a foreigner country and I need to find a good place. I just read the commments!
