Why hasn’t the satellite image of my locality been updated in a long time

Hi,
I noticed that the satellite imagery of my locality on Google Maps hasn’t been updated for a very long time. The area has undergone significant changes, but they are not reflected on the map. Could someone guide me on:

  1. How often satellite images are updated?

  2. Whether there’s a way to request an update for a specific area?
    Can anyone reply?

There is no specific amount of time to update satellite imagery , you can see historical images and see the date they were taken I wrote this post to explain it: Use Google Earth for time travel

If there are significant changes, like you said, you can fill the form to report the outdated imagery here: Report outdated imagery on Satellite or Street View
