Abacha is a welcoming meal in the Eastern part of Nigeria. It is better served with enough fish, ukpaka and cold palm wine. I have a favourite spot in Awka and I dont dare to miss hanging out with my friends. I wish to have @Sagir , @HelloSamsonR , @SanyaOdare , @ChinonsoOnukwugha , @ErmesT , @InaS some day at the spot
Hi @UchechukwuEnem ,
Thank you for tagging me in your post. The dish looks very tasty! What are the other ingredients except for fish, ukpaka, and palm wine? Do you mind adding the link of the Google Maps location to the place you tried Abacha?
Thank you @UchechukwuEnem ! I’ve heard of abacha long time ago but I’ve never had chance at tasting it.
Therefore I look forward to savouring its flavour when next an opportunity presents itself.
OMG, @UchechukwuEnem , you already know I would love to travel from Europe to Awka with @InaS to meet you, together with @SanyaOdare , @ChinonsoOnukwugha , and to finally meet @HelloSamsonR and @Sagir the fireman (I lived in a small town called Saint Florian, Sagir know what I mean).
Abacha looks really yummy
@ErmesT you know I can’t wait to have you, @InaS , @SoniaK , @Kwiksatik , @AnuradhaP , @KarenVChin , @vvbellur and @jgramp here in Nigeria.
No doubt, @UchechukwuEnem will be our good host.
@UchechukwuEnem , you are killing me! You are the second Nigerian woman who has posted her favorite Nigerian food in the last 24 hours.
@ChinonsoOnukwugha posted her Jollof rice dish that I was drooling this morning!
Tell me is Nigerian food spicy or just uses lots of different spices at once. What kind of fish is this? From the ocean or the river?
What does ukpaka taste like?
Cheers,
Karen
It’s a very local place and the owner of the Abacha spot runs her business in her home so it is not on the map. Other ingredients are palm oil, salt, seasoning cube, ncha, pepper and vegetable. Thank you @InaS
You will definitely have to taste it. It is a welcoming meal in Igbo land. Hope to see you soon @SanyaOdare
Will be expecting you @ErmesT . Love to have you around so to taste our local dish
Very well @SanyaOdare . Cheers!
@SanyaOdare @UchechukwuEnem with a vegetarian version I am game! hehe ![]()
Calm down @KarenVChin and exercise restraints from drooling. Hahahaha #LOL! I can imagine @U-royFelixA loosing his cool upon sighting a yummy-looking Nigerian delicacies.
I’m yet to see @ChinonsoOnukwugha 's jollof rice though. Let me head over to her post now.
Hahahah! We love to share our dishes here. We dont have too spicy food here. Our meals have very high natural nutrient and even the spices used are often gotten from dried and mixed vegetables/fruits. It is called dried fish
You will love it @KarenVChin
I understand @UchechukwuEnem . Thank you for your reply. Now I’m even more curious to try the dish! It must taste amazing.
ahh @UchechukwuEnem it’s a bitter thing that this is the first picture I woke up to. I guess that means I need to eat that this weekend. I would love to visit you at Awka. Hold me accountable to this before May!
That sounds like fun @UchechukwuEnem . Am drooling already, can’t wait ![]()
@ErmesT That would be a dream come true. Can’t wait to meet you finally. Somewhere someday, it will definitely happen ![]()
