I want to add a roundabout on map. But the categories list does not have terms like: Roundabout, Junction, Rotary etc. What do I do? I am unable to add missing place. Can I add my own category?
No, @spsood you canât add categories of your own. And as local guide you also canât add roundabouts, junctions, streets , etc. Local guides can only add âpoints of interestâ. You can, however, always open the Google Maps menu and select âSend feedbackâ to report missing info about road elements.
If you want to learn more about categories: there is a special episode on that topic on www.letsguidepodcast.com
Hi @spsood
Local Guides cannot add elements of the âmapâ layer, and Roundabout, Junction, Rotary are not missing places, but missing elements of the road.
What you can do is to send a feedback for informing the Maps Team about the error: in Report an error on the map you will find the detailed procedure
Hi @JanVanHaver
in fact i am not making a rotary on the map.
i am just trying to label it quite like the rotary is labelled Junction 45 in this link:
However, I want to label/name the rotary in the attached screenshot: How do i label this rotary?
:Your reply is clear enough @spsood
So from this point we can start:
You got in there an actually impossible category, called âPoint of Interestâ. Point of Interest was used in Map Maker to categorise almost everything that had to be updated, but a lot of people simply forgot to complete the edit.
My reply still unchanged. You should inform Google Maps about the number of the rotatory by sending a feedback
