When Food Becomes a Passport

For a very long time one of my favourite things to do is go to new restaurants and expand my tastebuds but it’s been a while.

I recently visited Spur Restaurant in GRA Ikeja, Spur is usually knows for its welcoming ambience and as a family friendly restaurant which means it appeals to people of all ages. The first time I entered any spur restaurant was over 10years ago and it was their spot in Ikeja City Mall. The first thing I noticed was their decor, it seemed like the designs were inspired by the American Indian culture.

Spur offers steaks, burgers, ribs, wings, and a general steakhouse / grill type menu.

I have never had any reason to regret visiting Spur and so far they have the best milkshake in Lagos; creamy, thick, and easily the best I’ve had in Lagos.

P.S: it’s not the best shake I ever had in my life but where Lagos is concerned I would give it to them.

I had the chocolate milkshake and I had their Meat Supreme pizza, it was very cheesy and meaty. I would definitely go back for another FOODfiling experience.

I recently stumbled on the word ‘food crawl’ and I’m tempted to start one here in Lagos. What restaurants should be on my list? Drop your suggestions — please recommend food places with meals that explores different cultures, let’s use food as a passport to exploring new worlds, let’s take our taste buds on a trip together.
