What to Eat in Japan During the Summer

The best foods to eat change with the seasons. This is true everywhere, but I think Japan has a special variety of summer foods. In the summer, we love to eat cold versions of hot dishes.

For example, we eat cold soba noodles as well as hot ones. We also have Somen (そうめん), which are thin noodles we usually eat at home in the summer.

For ramen, there is a summer-only dish called Hiyashi Chuka (冷やし中華), and now there are other kinds of cold ramen as well.

There are many other cold dishes and summer foods, but popsicles taste the best in the summer. “Garigari-kun” (ガリガリ君) is amazing on a really hot day.

Also, our peaches are much better than in any other country. All Japanese fruit is high quality, but our peaches are special.

I’ve talked about summer foods today, but please enjoy the seasonal food of Japan when you visit.

Wow, I missed many opportunities to taste many foods from Japan. Even I didn’t eat ramen along my visit last month (to be honest, I was too confused at that time to choose which one I want to eat). :sob:
Definitely wil try it when I visit Japan again :+1:

Happy summer @MasaruKamikura, something new for me about cold ramen.
