The Local Guides program means: building connections, sharing experiences and helping the local community.
Being a local guide has assisted me in getting involved with the local community more by giving back, making friendships, connections and sharing opinions and ideas of experiences to local businesses and visitors. I love helping people and this program has given me the opportunity to make friends and build connections I never thought I would. Through my involvement in the local guides program, I have discovered hidden places in my city, helped businesses promote their brand and even share marketing ideas on how to improve their service and products. I had the opportunity to work with a few businesses in regards to their marketing strategy.
For example, I worked for a Hilton property during the summer, and had the opportunity to reply to guests’ reviews and inquiries they had online. One of the platforms that I used was Google reviews, which is the most popular search engine site that many people depend greatly on. I learned so much about marketing and customer satisfaction during my time at Hilton. Google reviews play an important role in making your business look like a trustworthy source of information, both in the eyes of Google and your consumers. Us local guides have the power to influence the behavior of the consumers, and help businesses learn and improve from their mistakes.
I recently spotted a Matcha place in Miami through Instagram, my first visit was fantastic because the service was amazing that I even made friends with the barista. We had great conversations and I couldn’t leave the place without having to leave a review about this lovely place.
Reviews not only have the power to influence consumer decisions but can also strengthen a business’s credibility. Reviews have the power to gain customer trust and they encourage people to interact with the business as well. Customer interaction ultimately leads to improved profits for businesses. For example, the nearest office depot from my house has bad reviews on Google. Although I didn’t want to go because of the bad reviews, this didn’t stop me from going, and I ended up receiving such amazing service from one of associates that I genuinely wanted to leave a nice review for the store. Great customer service plays an important factor in Google reviews. Google reviews also provide an opportunity for businesses and customers to build a relationship with one another. The Local Guides program has a lot to offer and has helped me grow as a person, learn more about myself and my local community. Local Guides program is family.
