Two days ago, I opened my Maps app and saw this report. I literally teared up. It dawned on me just then that my role as a Local Guide goes beyond what I imagine!
It’s just been about 2years since I discovered the Local Guides program, and I already have over 9000 views from across the country and beyond? “You’ve got to take this even more seriously,” I said to myself.
That there, is what the Local Guide Program means to me; an opportunity to share my experience with the world and to know that it helps both individuals and businesses improve, influence their decision or action or even expand their view of their environ and the world at large!
I also get to see the world from a diverse standpoint, relating my ideas with those of millions of people from all works of life. In a way for me, it means exploring my global citizenship!
As much as all that sounds very exciting, it does not come easy, I had to overcome a few challenges.One of such for me was writing a detailed review. I continued to review more places and that helped me become more expressive. Below is an example of one of my most recent reviews. I feel it came straight from my heart because I wrote the review while experiencing the place - a tip I now find highly inspirational! That being said, the challenges are nothing compared to the joy and satisfaction of playing my role as a Local Guide!
It will certainly be very exciting to meet, connect, share ideas and learn from other Local Guides from across the globe who also love to lend their voices to help others too. It will certainly go down as one of the best experiences I’ve had!
