For me, being a Local Guide means a commitment to create incredible alternatives to improve the experience of all users. What makes this program special is that I have complete freedom to add relevant location information and also apply some photographic skills to show new perspectives of the place.
Connect: I discovered this program in August 2018, later I met a group of local guides from different regions of Perú
who they have allowed me the opportunity to learn new things. As I always say “There is no faster way to learn rather than immersing yourself in a community”.
The incredible thing about this experience is getting so excited seeing people who are passionate about what they do, sharing and growing as a community!
Grow: Little by little, thanks to these experiences, I was helping small companies to become digital businesses. On the way to reaching miles of person motivates me to continue collaborating. The best way to ensure that we are part of shaping the future of our world is to contribute. I love how being a Local Guide allows me to help others. I’ve enjoyed a lot all the activities I’ve done and all the places I’ve visited. One of the contributions for Restaurant PIKALOS helped upload photos of its main food and the most incredible thing was when one day I went to eat the owner of the restaurant recognized me in person and knows my name, she thanked me, I felt like an influencer hahaha, things like this motivates me to continue helping.
Learn: The tips of this fabulous Local Guides Connect forum and the recommendations that Google sends us through email and the different meetups. I learn more every day.
Technology has completely changed my life, Google Maps is not an exception for daily use and thanks to this I got very involved in this program. Help make inaccessible places accessible!
Thank you for reading!
