Thank you for a great post. I have a question you might be able to answer.
Should you, as a local guide, write reviews in your native language or in english? Are reviews auto-translated for tourists?

Hi guys,
with this post I want to know your thinking about the influence of language in reviews. You can tell me that you can use App Translator, now. But I would undestand if some words or all the sentences in a language can explain better a place, a feeling or other thing.
Forza ragazzi, proviamoci.
Let’s go guys!
The translation to Hebrew is not so well.
I prefer to read and write in English

I understand it, but some words have the “correct” sound in their own language.
You are right saing about the "correct"sound but if the tarnslation is not good other people will not undestand .
So I prefer to try and describe in English also some time it is hard to explain the meaning
Hi @Kasper404 ,
there is no best and exact answer to your question, however my personal suggestion is that, being a Local Guide, leave the reviews in your own language as you can express yourself better and be more helpful for other people seeking for a local language information. Note also that Maps translates the reviews automatically so everyone can always read your review in their own language.
Here and here there are some tips how to write a great review.
Since you are new you can have a look at the **14 helpful tips for using Connect **to understand how to use Connect, if you need any help you can always refer to our Help Desk.

Hi @Kasper404 ,
Thank you for reaching out. You are more than welcome to write reviews in the language you prefer, or it is easier for you. Reviews written in foreign languages are translated on Google Maps, depending on the language settings on the device a Local Guide is using, whether it is phone/computer.
Please note that I moved your comment to how-tos as a new post. When you have a question, you can start a new post or search if there is something similar to what you are asking already on Connect.
As well, I changed the title, so it will be easier for Local Guides to understand what the post is about.
I accepted as a solution @LuigiZ comment, as it is the right answer to your question. The purpose of this feature is to help Local Guides find answers when searching on the Connect. Please take a look at : How do I mark comments as solutions? article.
If we write post in our native lauguage, so it could be change automatically by google connect ?
Hi @daku07 ,
yes you can write reviews in your own language, they are translated by Google Maps (not Connect) automatically based on the language settings of the person who is reading the review.
Thanks for sharing useful tips !

Hi @amfdvx ,
I decided to merge your post with this thread called - What language should we write reviews on Google Maps? as the same subject is being discussed. Please feel free to jump into the conversation and start connecting with the other members of the community.
Kojim jezikom treba pisati na Mapi, a kojim na LGC. I koji moderatori onda odgovaraju? Da li mi obiÄŤni korisnici smijemo znati te detalje?
Hello community,
After sharing my contributions around the places Ive been in the world, I started to think what was more efficient: Should Local Guides write the contributions in the Native Language, in English or a combination of both is OK? My though was that making contributions in our our country can be read by local people and that
s fine. But what about tourists that does not speak our language?
Same thought works for other countries. I want tourists also to read my contributions.
Advise on what is more efficient?
Always a pleasure,
Axel
Hello @leitoaxel
A combination of language is not preferred.
Instead, you can write a review in the local language. A tourist can translate that to English, or other language set as default on the device.
PS. Many times the questions repeat on the forum. You can find a previous answer by using the search box at the top. Nevertheless, here is a link to the most recent communication on that.
Hello @leitoaxel ,
Thank you for reaching out.
Please be advised that I will merge your post with What language should we write reviews on Google Maps? that @C_T mentioned in order to keep Connect more organised.
