What it means to me, to be a local guide

Being a Local guide, means that I get to share my experiences, both good and bad. I am able to help people find a special place to celebrate an occasion, or enjoy a new dish, I am able to caution others from unsafe or unpleasant places. My favorite part of being a local guide is sitting down, after I have visited a place to share my entire experience and photos of the place I have just been to. I love complementing and acknowledging people who work at these places, for the excellent jobs they do… For their great service or their amazing attitude toward their jobs. I have seen what a difference it makes to them, when people take the time to compliment or acknowledge them. I also feel that for the benefit of a business, as well as patrons, poor service or substandard service should be brought to light. This way businesses can improve, instead of assuming that they know the problems customers face when visiting their establishments. I feel that not just do customers benefit from these reviews, but so do businesses as they are able to get honest feedback. I find that I have become so much more aware and attentive of the experience I have when visiting a place. I am also more in the moment. I feel that being a local guide, I have improved many businesses or their service, I have made many good businesses feel proud about their business ethic and great service, I have helped others find great new places to visit or avoid wasting their time at restaurants or places that are unpleasant. I have had alot of feedback from Owners or managers of places that I have reviewed, who were very proud of the experience I had, or of the outstanding service of their staff. I also really felt like my time spent on the reviews was well worth it, when I walked into certain businesses to find that staff I had specifically complimented, where promoted or acknowledged by management.
