- Sometimes I think to myself what is a photo. We all know the standard definition of movements captured forever. Whenever I think deeply about it it is an extension of every facet of our life. It could be a moment when you are having that drink with your crush on a fine friday evening. All the time where you might have lost someone very dear to you. when you are going through a really hard time in life it could give you the strength to pull through for one more day or it could make you question what you are doing in your life. What I am trying to get it is a picture can take you to a lot of places so keep the ones which take you to the place you want to get to you the closest.
That’s a decent thought-provoking philosophy @Arjunsp
However, it is always said that a picture replaces a thousand words.
In that respect, can you add some picturesque examples to the excellent doctrine?
Thank you for your opinion. From now on I’ll try to express in a better manner but my language(English) skills are kind of limited. I have almost all of education in a different language so very hard for me to come up with elaborate explanations for what I am trying to put forth
I agree with you at 100% @Arjunsp .
I hope that, with your words in mind, you will review your submission in Google Maps.
I really appreciate what you say: “What I am trying to get it is a picture can take you to a lot of places so keep the ones which take you to the place you want to get to you the closest”. A picture (one) is the keyword, in this case. Choosing the better picture that clearly represent a place, avoiding to post near duplicates photos, that do not give any extra information and are used only to get moro points. I am sure in your case this in not intentional (it can happen, of course) and I believe that you will quickly fix this small issue.
What photos should I share on Google Maps? will help you to make a choice
With this in mind, I would like to ask you: have you ever been in the situation of having to choose whether to upload or not a photo in Maps, finally deciding for the no, because you considered the photo inappropriate?
You can respond in this post: Irreverent birds - Do you upload them in Google maps?
Hello @Arjunsp
Here on Connect, you need not worry about proficiency in any particular language. Further, you can express your thoughts in Malayalam or Tamil also.
However, that’s not the point.
In the photography section, we expect examples of great photos or tips on how to accomplish that.
Then those pics can accompany wonderful thoughts.
Thank you for your valuable advice I’ll keep what you said in mind the next time post anything. I do see the errors of what I do
Now I understand what you trying to convey. Thank you so much for letting me know I will try to do better next time. With regards to what I learnt from here
You are welcome @Arjunsp
I’m happy that you are thinking about a future improvement.
But the first important step is to fix the existing contributions, to avoid a suspension
Whenever I take photos for Google maps I take multiple photos most are different from one another but not by a huge margin. How do I decide which ones are not worthy to be up?
This is exactly the subject of your post, I suppose, @Arjunsp
I see it is not so easy, when you have three photos with a minimal difference. So, why three? Which is the benefit for the map users?
Regarding your question:
For the ones already uploaded, the choice is easy. Save the one with more views.
For the ones you haven’t uploaded yet, choose the one with a better subject. If the subject is the same, choose the one with a better focus, then with a better saturation
