What is the difference between, location is accepted and location is now live

Ich trage einen Ort ein… Dann bekomme ich die Meldung, der Ort ist akzeptiert

Tage oder Wochen später bekomme ich zusätzlich die Meldung, der Ort ist jetzt live zu sehen

Was ist der Unterschied?

I enter a location… Then I get the message that the location is accepted

Days or weeks later I also get the message that the location can now be seen live

What is the difference?

@Norbert1 There can be a delay between the time a location has been approved, and the time when the location has been published for public viewing.

@Norbert1

This is unusual. If possible, would you be able to share screenshots of the two redundant messages?

All the best

Hi @Norbert1 With the first e-mail you receive, the review phase for the subject you added begins. After the review, if the place you added is correct and the information given is valid, it starts to be published on the maps. The map does not appear as soon as you add it in the first stage. In other words, you apply in the first stage, and in the second stage, you can now see the place you added on the map.

Hello and thank you for the information. Now I understand it

Hi @Norbert1

While there could be a delay between the approval and seeing changes on the map, as @iyudhi and @Gezendunyali mentioned, this is not so long in most cases. Only visibility of the changes on the icon may take a bit longer up to some days, but again not weeks! And it is not about this case I guess.

Indeed I assume you’re discussing the “Edit is now live” notification.

First, you receive an email that tells your edit has been accepted. It is also appeared on the Edits list. Within a few minutes (except sometimes when there is a global glitch) you can see your edit is live on the map.

Normally, you should receive the notification at the same time as the email. But since several weeks ago, there has been a long delay (with a random pattern) between the real approval and the notification for some edits.

So, semantically there is no difference between the “Accepted” email and the “Edit is now live” notification. But only this long delay confuses us about what happened again to the point we edited!
