What is the best way to draw roads in country area filled with trees or shadows

Hi,

Most of the country side is filled with trees, trees shadow or mount shadow that cover the roads. some time in a 500 Meter you finds a lot of trees or their shadow over the roads and drawing too many segments for just one 500M road is not logical. I am wondering in places like forests where the roads is completely covered by trees how can we draw roads. AI is really making the job very hard or impossible.

Any idea, tips or advise I am really frustrated most of country side is like this and all my edits are bending!

Hello @Port, I agree with “not logical”, but it is the only solution we are aware of, otherwise the edits are very likely rejected or stay pending for up to 90 days before being rejected.

For example see Road edit under the tree or Manual for Road Editors

There is not a best way, other than split the edit in many parts, @Port
There are of course other two options to try to have the roads added:

  1. By sharing on the Google Maps Help Community a post with a link to an official Cartography of the area (issued by a governative Office) and explaining the issue to them. This because Google wants official Maps to update Google Maps
  2. Google has a program created for the public authorities to update the Map directly. In this case the update is very fast, but unfortunately in many cases the Public Administrations are unaware of this possibility. For more details: https://contentpartners.maps.google.com/

If you are able to involve the Local Authorities, they can do that very quickly
