What is Halal/Jain/Vegitarian food. Importance of answering of such questions in GMaps

Hello everyone.

Hope you are doing good. Google Maps is know for it’s timely updations as per need of hour.

While answering questions in Google Maps I am finding this Question frequently . I need more clearance regarding this. Does a vegetarian/Jain restaurant needs to be lebeled Halaal .

Why this is a mandatory question in :india: .

This is a screenshot taken by me for a question asked by Google Maps in my timeline.

Does this restaurant serve Halaal Food. ?

I don’t think the question should be on Google Maps. This can be well described by the owner of business in My business.

If any local guide want to add more he can add these details in About.

Need more clarity on this topic

@Sandeepnirvan It is necessary to verify it being a local Guides we can answer question and help others who are searching for a particular type of food.

All restaurant owners don’t handle their business via Google My Business and even if they do many of them are not fully aware of how to use them (so indirectly we are helping both the Resturant and the people searching )

I hope you get what I am trying to say :slightly_smiling_face:

Halal food is a category of edible or non-edible foods for muslims as per Quran. I got this information from Wikipedia page on Halal

Answering about Jain/Vegetarian food questions, it helps other Jain / Vegetarian food eaters to help selecting the restaurant.

  1. Here question is do we as a local guides know what a Halaal means. I don’t know what is the difference between Halaal and Non Halaal. Then how can I answer that question.
  2. If Google map really mean it so seriously then why don’t they include "Jain food Available here ?
  3. What is reason of asking such question for a sweet shop ?

I don’t found, whether it is a good practice or not but I think Google map need to update their list of Questions. They need to know more about Indian Ethinics

Loads of literature is available on google for these foods and lots of explanations are also given. But why don’t they consider that Indian values are also matters. It is lackness of peoples living here. If Halaal food matters than My option of food also matters.

Read my 3rd point. @HarshMehta

Very important and useful Question… @Sandeepnirvan

Here, First I give some answers of Your questions with help of google search, wikipedia,I hope your some queries are solved.

What is meant by halal food?
Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Koran. The Islamic form of slaughtering animals or poultry, dhabiha, involves killing through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe. … There is debate about elements of halal, such as whether stunning is allowed.

What is non halal food?
The most common example of haram (non-halal) food is pork. While pork is the only meat that categorically may not be consumed by Muslims (the Quran forbids it, Sura 2:173 and 16:115) other foods not in a state of purity are also considered
haram.

Difference.

What is halal and non halal food?

According to Islamic rulings, Halal meat is the meat which is from slaughtered allowed animals that Muslims can eat and Haram meat is the meat which does not have the halal meat conditions.

What is the importance of halal food?

The main reason to eat food that is halal because it had been commanded by God to us. Eating halal food can prevent a person from punishment in the hereafter. People who eat halal food, prayer answered differently by those who eat unclean food, terhijab prayer to God. Eating halal food will be accepted for practice.

What is a Jain meal?
A Jain meal is based on the principle of non-violence, like everything else in Jainism. Note that ‘non-violence’ is as per Jainism definition, and is much broader and better defined than common perception.

A Jain meal is the one that has:

No meat - for obvious reasons

No fish - as fish are also living beings (son religions or social norms might not consider fish-eating as non-vegetarian or violence)

No eggs - eating eggs is also a firm if violence as the eggs could have resulted into a full living being

No under-roots - for example, no potato, no carrot, no beet root, no onion, no garlic, because the under roots have uncountable micro living beings. So, eating these is also a firm of violence.

You will see that Jain food is a subset of so-called vegetarian food.

What is mentioned above is the main definition of Jain food.

There are further nuances within Jain food.

Within Jain food, some Jain do not consume ‘Vigay’ such as alcohol, honey, milk, butter, etc. This is comparable to vegan food but there are some differences (the word ‘Vigay’is also similar to vegan. That might be a co-incidence.)

Further more, some Jains do not consume green vegetables (typically a defined number of days per months).

What it means to be vegetarian?

The simplest definition of vegetarianism is a diet free of meat, fish, and fowl flesh. … At one end are lacto-ovo vegetarians, who avoid animal flesh but eat eggs and milk products. At the other end are vegans, who forgo eating (and often wearing) all animal-based products, including honey.

How many Muslim are in the world?

According to a study in 2015, Islam has 1.8 billion adherents, making up about 24.1% of the world population. Most Muslims are either of two denominations: Sunni (80–85%, roughly 1.5 billion people) or Shia (15-20%, roughly 240–340 million people).

How many Jains are in the world?

They follow Jainism, the religion taught by the twenty-four propagators of faith called tirthankaras. The total Jain population is estimated to be 4+ million people worldwide

So, now come to your main question.

As per the no of living people according , Muslim people population very very higher than jain people.

So, it’s better that they add option Halal food,

And it’s their favorite food.

You ask me that ,Hey, kishor,

Halal is nonveg food? So why they display halal?.

Because halal food mainly taken or eaten by Muslim people.

Hence, non veg food eaten by all people.

And halal food is special food of Muslim and it’s own value in Non vegitarian category.

So, that’s why halal food display as question.

Why not jain food?

Because very low no of jain people in world according to numbers.

So, google Maps doesn’t including this question.

We have option have Veg food also.

Now,

I saw the questions when I visit tea stall,

Google Maps ask me is there quick bite?

Is there Kids menu?

So, when I saw this questions, I click on not relevant.

Why these unrelated questions asked by google Maps?

No, there is no any un realated question.

Because

Google Maps follows world wide mechanism, and they add questions based on that it’s directly help to the all over the world. And not for specific area or country.

Google Maps is worldwide navigation platform and it’s also support many businesses.

So, They prepare general questions for related to place.

Jainism vs Islamism, it’s Very discussed topic, and many articles available on google for this.

Thanks for asking this question. I learn a lot about this.

So, whenever you find inappropriate questions, click on not relevant.

And there is only one solution.

Google Maps doesn’t depends on Religions, or neither any cast.

It’s helps all around the world people.

I hope , I give your answer.

Thanks again.

That’s really a good question to think about. In country like India, other options to available.
