What is a cappuccino like in Vietnam?

  • What will an extremely popular coffee dish from Italy around the world be like in Vietnam, a country with the second largest coffee export volume in the world?

  • It seems that this drink does not have a high position in the hearts of customers in coffee shops because dishes such as “Vietnamese iced milk coffee or Hanoi egg coffee” are extremely popular, and very few cafes have it highly skilled to make a true cappuccino for customers. I have been frustrated many times because many cafes have really “bad” cappuccinos.

  • However, coffee shops that specialize in coffee will produce truly delicious cups of coffee (various types of beans and roast levels).

Hello @NgocVu3822

I’m curious to know why you said that the cappuccino in Vietnam not that good?
Although I haven’t been to Vietnam yet, but I do like variant of Vietnamese coffee as it has strong coffee strong which I love

I tried this Egg Coffee in Phin Cafe , San Jose, California. I love this one! It’s unique because I haven’t tried coffee with egg before. The taste is less sweet and refreshing!

Look at the second picture! How creative they put the cocoa powder in Vietnamese coffee shape.

Is this egg coffee the same with Hanoi egg coffee?

Agree with you @NgocVu3822

Many times, our favorite coffee may not taste the same in a different place.

Which is your favorite cafe in town?

But,WHY would I look for one, when there are local possibilities?

Hi @Velvel ,

As mentioned above, more elaborately prepared coffee dishes such as Capuchino, Latte, Pour Over… are not widely used by mid-range or lower-range cafes (customer did’t like light taste), so when drinking in a few places, I see that those cups: 1, the picture above has completely sunk to the bottom, 2, they can’t figure out which is a cappuccino and which is a latte

Regarding Hanoi egg coffee, it is mainly used as hot coffee because the weather in Hanoi is very cold all year round so drinking it hot will warm the body more. It is used with mixed coffees so it gives a strong feeling rich and fatty from eggs.

  • Hi @TusharSuradkar , I like coffee shops that have different coffee brewing styles and of course coffee beans from around the world (currently there is only 1 coffee shop in Phan Thiet, Vietnam is Lac Cafe that has different coffee brewing methods variety of coffee recipes), usually these types of shops will be very quiet because people here not only drink coffee but also work and study

Although there are very few cafes specializing in Capuchino, as a Vietnamese person, I still love Vietnamese coffee. Because I go to more than 100 different cafes in the city, I still really want cafes like that.

That’s perfect to drink a hot coffee in a cold day!

Thanks for the information @NgocVu3822

I’ve checked again the menu of Phin Cafe. They also serve the hot one.

But since that time San Jose was so sunny, so I decided to have the iced coffee
