When you are from such a small place in the Caribbean, you live most of your life trying to change the misconceptions that people have about where you are from.
I don’t get to travel even a tiny amount of how much I would like to but Google maps gives me the opportunity to inform people all over the world about our little islands in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago.
Everything! Yes, that is what I love sharing on google maps, everything I can about where I live and where I have visited. I have not really travelled since becoming a local guide but I thoroughly enjoy sharing photos of our farmer’s markets (where I sell), beautiful landmarks, fabulous beaches, our unique and colourful people, everything that can show people that we are not just a place where banana trees grow :).
Google maps allows me not only to share what I love but also to feel as though I am a part of something bigger, a part of a community of like-minded individuals.
Every time I make time to share on google maps, I feel as though i am contributing to the education of the world.
