Working with cartography and maps, I often use Google Maps to search and compare different places. When I discovered the possibility of being able to contribute to improving it I was immediately enthusiastic. Over time I have been able to add, modify and create information on placemarks, insert new photos and videos, hence my passion for sharing information on my known places, so that they can be disclosed and made known to tourists and travelers who would like come here from the other side of the globe. I would like to know that, having arrived in place, I can know exactly where I can admire a sunset, a sculpture, a vantage point to take unforgettable pictures of my journey.
I hope to have the chance to participate in Connect Live 2019 and be able to express my opinions with the developers to implement new features.
Here are some examples of my photos shared on Google Maps.
Here’s the first one, which got more than 200,000 views:

Working with cartography and maps, I often use Google Maps for comparison or to find new places. I was immediately thrilled when I discovered the possibility of helping to improve the maps by entering new activities, panoramic points, photographs and videos. What I like most about Google Maps is to indicate and insert new places of my land (Calabria) from which you can take beautiful photos of landscapes, sunsets, historic castles, I think these indications can be useful to tourists who love to travel to discover new landscapes.
If I had the ability to access Connect Live 2019 I’d like to bring to the attention of programmers, new types of placeholders to add to those already present that in some cases are limiting and not very descriptive of the place. Furthermore it would be advisable to speed up the process of inserting a new place on the maps (maybe set a filter for local guides with a higher level, they could be more reliable).
Below is an example of a photo with drone (over 200,000 views) shared on Google Maps representing the “Castello Della Valle” in “Fiumefreddo Bruzio” in Calabria (Italy)

When I have to go to a place, whether for work or vacation, I like to plan the stages and know in advance where and what I could visit once I get there. Therefore, I believe that by placing more information on the places around me on the map, I can give the possibility to those on the other side of the world, to know what is here, near me, before arriving.
