What does the Local Guides program mean to you?

Being part of the local guide community means to me the power to positively impact in many ways. I have found the possibility of making small businesses visible, of sharing my favorite places, food and experiences, but even more importantly, the possibility of connecting with people passionate about the program through meet ups and the different chats we have with people from all the world.

As community manager of the local Guides de Mexico on instagram / telegram I have been able to help bring people together, we create ideas, discussions and resolve some doubts, spreading enthusiasm based on our experience,
of course the meet ups we host are the best of all!!!

Last year was very important to me because I became a mom for the second time and I noticed the need for safe and hygienic places in which to breastfeed. Many mothers have suffered harassment or have been removed from many places, so groups of mothers have come together to change this situation. Through my contributions as reviews it is possible to show which places promote and allow breastfeeding.

My goal this year is to carry that message through the communities of local guides around the world, increase and improve the information on the map, beyond social stigmas, to favor something so natural and healthy.

Being a local guide gives you the tools to change the world, make a difference! And that’s great!!!

Love!

Thanks for all the support!!! Although now everything has changed I see in the future that more places will become spaces for breastfeeding !!! many women have been discriminated against for feeding their children, many others do not leave home because they do not feel safe, and others stop feeding their babies and change bottle feeding. It is important for the health of children.

Support is necessary to your initiative @Imperiospice , and you deserve it.

I’m born in the '60, when breast feeding was normal, but the attitude was changing quickly, in the direction of a “modern” life, were bottle feeding appeared like a dream of apparent “freedom”. 60 years later (yes, 60 years is the time we needed to start to talk about breast feeding again) the awareness is changed, and women are claiming for a different “freedom”: the freedom of being women, the freedom of being mothers, the freedom of being free to go out, feeling safe.

In my recent years as a Local Guide I have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to meet a huge amount of Local Guides, women and moms, from a lot of different country, and I am learning a lot from you, or from my best friends @KarenVChin and @NatalkaR , just to mention a few. Life is changing we can be actors in this, Imperio.

Good Luck again

P.S.: please, remember to tag the people when you reply, especially in long thread. :slightly_smiling_face:
