What does the Local Guides program mean to you?

Hey there, fellow local guides!

I want to share what being a Local guide means to me.

To me, it’s a very tangible way to push change in our market.

I am a vegan, and in the past, I used to struggle a lot to find vegan places or regular places with vegan options to go with non-vegan friends.

Thanks to our reviews, we can make food businesses know what we are after: nice vegan food, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. This new demand helps our economy become better for all beings. We bring this change to life everytime we ask for options and we make reviews. We enforce positive change and it really costs nothing.

Local stores get to know our needs and they get the chance to improve. It’s linear and simple. We make the change when we speak up and when we share our experience with our community.

I make my reviews with this in my mind. I find it as a way of activism. We are mirrors; we get encouraged to do things when we see others do it. And that’s why I love it so much.

I also share a brick and mortar store with friends, where we work and host events about environmental change, and I love how small businesses like ours can help people in many ways, and we can receive feedback from our visitors!

I feel this program gives me the chance to impact our local realities in many ways. I chose one, but there are a thousand others!
