I’m studying in a business department and I like to use the knowledge I learned to recommend possible solutions for the businesses or restaurants that I review. With my recommendation, I hope to give customers a better experience and to also give owners better advice.
I also have a friend named Norman who studies in engineering and loves programming. Him and I often use google maps while traveling.
When we travel we want to secure the best experience possible, but when my friend and I arranged our trips, we found that we couldn’t order our trips on a sequential and timely basis. Now we are only able to save locations in our list. Although this reminds us of the places we want to go on a particular date. We lack the ability or means to organize or arrange the transportation and duration of our trips. An idea that Norman and I have to tackle this problem, is to provide a function where you can create a navigational itinerary plan for your own travel.
if you want to share it, you can share it with others especially if you feel that you have a good plan. This is similar to leaving reviews of locations on google maps where people can instead refer to your plans and thus have a reference to explore and visit their intended destinations. And if they think your navigational itinerary plan is a good plan, then they can give you a like or a comment. If there are more likes, then your plan will show on the top of the list. In addition, if people keep creating better navigational itinerary plans then eventually they can optimize these plans. With these plans and their optimizations, we can save other people a lot of time and energy.
As for what I say in the beginning, people love traveling and google maps has made people’s experiences better. So, me and other local guides leave comments or reviews and upload pictures to help other users’ travels. Because this local guide program is important to my friend and I, we have come out with this idea and have even built a website to extend the itinerary function of google maps. So, when you ask me what a local guide means to me, I only have one answer and that is we want to make every traveler’s experience better and to make the google maps users’ platform more convenient.
