For me “Be a Local Guide” means contribute to the best ever program created to know and share easily what is around you and, in particular, what is good for you.
Actually, I abuse of contributes and tips of the other guides all over the world; when I travel, in particular for business, I am addicted on advises, suggestions and photos I can find on Maps.
I still remember when I was younger and shy. At that time touring around was so difficult: even looking for a good restaurant, or asking for the most beautiful places worth to visit in a new city tooks a big effort.
Today, thanks to Google Maps and the help of my “Guide” colleagues when I travel I do not need to make a detailed plan before. I can focus only on the goal of my trip and, then, when I want to relax or take some time for me, I pick up the smartphone and that’s it.
Some years ago, when I was traveling from Rome to Brussel, I realized that I was using Maps and its indispensable services paying nothing.
Following my consciousness but also some Mails from Google that pushed me up to subscribe as Local Guide, I decided to contribute to this community in order to help as many people as possible to make easier their life.
I want to thank Google Team to have developed this interactive program and in particular to believe in the project, updating it so quickly.
Now I leave you because I am busy with a long journey around the world; of course, a virtual one on Maps, surfing through wonderful photos uploaded by Local Guides.
During Coronavirus time I discovered a new task for the program: help young people to travel from the sofa.
