What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

Growing up in a relatively conservative Kashmiri family and never really given the freedom to explore on my own, I always dreamt of traveling the world and visiting some of those famed locations. Often I sought pleasure in Googling the names and reading their reviews given by people who were a lot like me. This hugely inspired me to travel and one day to leave my own review.

As I graduated from college, I transitioned into an independent working woman - I immediately started planning my own itinerary of excursions. Starting out local, I made it a point to pen down my experience everywhere that I went. Writing reviews myself made me realise that I was finally realising my dream, and like many other travelers, my presence was finally stamped online.

I have now traveled to 10 countries in the past few years, visited 100s of sights, marked some places off my bucket lists too, but yet, I never fail to leave a google review because I know somewhere there is a Swati waiting to be inspired
