Participating in Local Guides Connect become a part of my life since recently. I’ve caught myself thinking that I’m always looking at the maps for ratings before I visit one place or another. When I arrive in another city, in another country, I always look at places I can visit on the maps. I take pictures of the menu, interior and meals of the places I visit to be useful for others. For me, it has become a way of life to be a local guide.
In addition, now in April (possible transfer to the autumn) in my city Ekaterinburg will be an event called Proshagai Gorod for the development of tourism in Russia.
Local guides of our city, citizens and bussiness community will gather and walk through Ekaterinburg. And for those who do not know all the advantages of using maps, we will invite them to become local guides. We plan to take three planned routes around the city together and mark places on the maps that are missing, and we will add photos and reviews where possible. Such campaigns have already been held in monocities of Russia. It’s time for the big cities to take part as well.
I believe that the coronavirus pandemic, which envelops the whole world, will pass in the near future, and people will be able to return to their usual way of life. But at this time, it becomes clear how useful forum Local Guides Connect with his world community to know more about life in different countries, and Google maps and street view, where you can at least virtually travel to your favorite countries. Local Guides Connect is a huge community of users who help and make life easier for each other, tell about interesting places and traditions in their countries. And I am proud to be a part of this amazing community!
