What does Local Guides program means to me: warm heart and fresh eyes within your reach

Being a Local Guide means “the world” to me.
For me, the Local Guides program means a continuous support for worldwide businesses for whom I have a warm place in my heart. It means encouragement for people to get to know new places and even discover their hometown by seeing it with fresh eyes. Lastly, it means accessibility to information who was once known only to locals, within your reach.

The thing I love most about the Local Guides program is the continuity connection and support for local businesses.
During the last five years of my involvement in the Local Guides program, I’ve been traveling around the world several times. During traveling I’ve visited so many places and so many small businesses for whom I still have a warm place in my heart.
Thanks to the Local Guides program I have the opportunity to keep on supporting these places and keep friendships from around the world.
I can still support small businesses in places like India, Argentina, Sri Lanka, France and many more places that I’ve visited during these years.
It feels wonderful that even when not traveling, while on my couch at my home in Tel Aviv, I get the opportunity to keep contributing by answering questions about places I’ve visited and help people.

Thanks to the Local Guides program I’m encouraged to not only get to know new places while travelling, but also see my hometown with fresh eyes every day.
I live in Tel Aviv. Things are changing rapidly in the city and new places are opened up often.
Thanks to the diverse recommendations, along with the personalized suggestions, I am able to stay up to date with things I might like. I am encouraged to visit new places and add my point of view about local business around my house.
It is amazing that curiosity and new experiences have become a part of my day to day’s routine.

What I mostly love about the Local Guides program is that it gives me the opportunity to get to know all the best spots at once, even in places I have never traveled to before.
As a little girl, traveling with my parents in Europe, we often hired a local tour guide to show us around the city. I remember asking our guide to get to the “secret spots” - the best places to eat and see. Back in the days, this information was known only to locals.
With the Local Guides program I have recommendations of both locals and tourists everywhere I go and travel. Now, all the top rated places, alongside personalized recommendations, are easily accessible for everyone.

Ultimately, this program celebrates globalization and availability of information alongside with the ability to travel and explore new things.
