Welcome to BATAM

BATAM island is a small island in Indonesia. It was also called an industrial city in the beginning. Because there are many jobs and jobs are easy, this city has a diverse population. From all regions of Indonesia, various tribes come here. this with other small islands around. To connect between these small islands, the government built a bridge during the construction period. We call it BRIDGE BARELANG. BARELANG is short for the names of the islands connected by the bridge. Among them are Batam Island, Rempang Island and Galang Island. the first bridge that dominates the icon of this city. Then followed by 5 more bridges to the end of the island. The view is beautiful. As far as the eye can see the blue ocean and small islands extend. SINGAPORE and MALAYSIA. But at this time 2020 what do you want to say. Corona virus makes 3 traffic passing through these countries while it closes first.

Hey @RatnaAthshz ,

Thanks for sharing with us your photos from Batam island, Indonesia.

It’s always great to learn more about the life on an island. It’s nice to see that they’ve built a bridge to make reaching the to the island easier. Do you have more photos that you can share with us?

You mentioned also about Rempang Island and Galang Island - please tell us more about them.

P.S. I’m removing the Indonesian language tag from your post, as it’s written in English. These tags should reflect the language of the post itself. To read more about the language tags, check here.

thanks a lot for your appreciation @KatyaL

I will explain a little about Rempang island and Galang .

Rempang is the second island from Batam.

there are not many residents. all of them are gardening and raising livestock. There are also culinary tourism spots around the area.

Galang is the end of the island is connected by the last bridge. from bridge one to bridge 6 the distance of walking is about 59km. I once tried to walk with the team. It turned out that for me it was very far away. I was only able to do it around 38km.

at this time the corona outbreak is not good on batam island. If I don’t, I can not take a recent photo for you. I’m sorry. more alert. one heart if the situation returns good. i will photograph the 6 bridges for you …

Especially now on the island of Galang already standing the Corona Hospital … we are increasingly alert…im so sory dear

Hi @RatnaAthshz ,

Thanks for your reply!

I thought that you visited these islands before and that’s why I was curious to see more photos, but keeping in mind the current situation it’s understandable.

Thanks for adding the information about Rempang island and Galang island.
