Wei-Saw-Dong Waterfall In Cherrapunjee: Most Scenic Waterfall In Meghalaya[Trip to india part-7]

photo #1 most beautiful fountain is at the back, but even if the flow of water is low, the cold water will refresh your mind and body

On this part of my India trip I went to one of the most interesting waterfalls in Cherrapunjee, wei sawdong waterfall. It was an unprecedented feeling of cold blue water. Being a hilly region receiving the highest amount of rainfall in India, Meghalaya has the maximum waterfalls too. If you ever go there in the monsoon, you might see a waterfall forming in every corner. However, some of the famous waterfalls out there have their own beauty. One such waterfall is the Wei Sawdong Waterfall in Cherrapunji.

Photo #2 I captured this image at first sight

Photo #3 You will not be able to resist the urge to take pictures next to such a fountain"

Most tourists compare the Wei Sawdong to the Pamukkale hot springs in Turkey. You may call them a mini version of the hot springs as it is a 3-tier waterfall. Surrounded by greenery on all sides, you have to take a steep trek in the hills to finally get a view of these hidden waterfalls.

Having to find these waterfalls does add to its beauty and charm. When you get its first aerial view, you will be startled for a moment to see its pure blue colour, form and tranquillity. All you can hear in this area is the sound of the water falling down from the 3 levels. Your eyes will be caught up with the beautiful blue spot appearing from nowhere in the middle of greenery.

Such is the attraction of these waterfalls. Once you’re there, you can’t stop staring at them. Although officially you’re not allowed to swim here, you might like to dip your feet a little bit. The water is ice cold and very deep here.

Lots of tourists come here including boys and girls but honestly don’t like much noise

Some of the steep paths have to be climbed down through the stairs

Getting To Wei Sawdong From Shillong

This fall is on the outskirts of Cherrapunjee near the famous DainThlen falls. If you fall in the ‘adventurous traveller’ category, this should be your must-visit place in Meghalaya Trip. The falls is around 58km from the capital city, Shillong of Meghalaya that. It is a one and half hours drive from Shillong to Wei Saw dong waterfall. These 7 Stunning Lakes Of Sikkim Are Sure To Leave You Spellbound.

Don’t forget to carry a water-resistant camera as you may get a little wet trying to capture the grandeur of this natural wonder.

If you travel outside of your territory, you must respect the locals. Avoid activities that harm the environment. Do not throw non-biodegradable waste polythene everywhere.

@MohammadPalash

Overall, this article does an excellent job of conveying the natural wonder and beauty of the Wei Sawdong Waterfall.

What is the experience like when you first see the Wei Sawdong waterfall from an aerial view?

do you had to give any document to the administration there to get this waterfall?

Best regards,
